I Would Like To Buy A Large Print For My Newley Decorated Sitting Room. Any Ideas?
My walls are bright white, and the floor is a rich dark mahogony. This print will be the only thing hanging on the walls.
I was thinking about a large Edward Hopper, but I am unable to find anyone who can supply the right size [approx 2m x 1m]. Any suggestions much appreciated, of what will look good, or where to buy large prints?

If you have your heart set on a particular Edward Hopper have you thought about getting the image done digitally on canvas, there seem to be a lot of places doing that now although I have no idea about the cost or copyright rules …
Otherwise your decor sounds fantastic for something bright & abstract & it’s always interesting to see what folks are selling on ebay as they are usually very reasonably priced & if you see something you like at least it’s original, even if they’re not famous
try AllPosters.co.uk they have vast range of prints, covering every possible taste and size!! and are very quick to deliver once order placed..
ebay usually has a large selection of canvases to buy and have shipped to you
I would respectfully encourage you to visit some art galleries, museums etc and decide what kind of art you LIKE. Please, please don’t buy a picture to “match the sofa”. That is not what art is about. You will eventually get weary of such banal decoration. Instead pick something you adore –whether it “matches” or not and then hang it in your sitting room and relish it every day. For less expensive art, make contact with some local artists and support their efforts. You may find you can even afford an original piece and who knows but what it may become valuable some day. In any case get what you love.
The tate has a service where you can have a print made from their collection, they’re bound to have plenty of choice, even a Hopper, it’s a print to order service, which you can find on their website. They do quite large sizes too.
Well IKEA do a number of large prints in the range called Premier. Check it out.
Try a thomas kinkade print they are expensive but they are soooooo beautiful
Visit my website: http://www.fractallyours.com. The fractal designs can be made to order in the colours of your choice. As they are based on mathematical formulae, they have an innate grace. And size – any size – is not a problem.
If you don’t like the finished product, you don’t pay. And I don’t mind if you want to match the sofa, or your underwear. Art is what you want to look at.
The artist, Dalhart Windberg, has done some great work to choose from. I think you will find what you are looking for if you go to http://www.windberg.com. His work is my personal favorite.
if u go to saltaire in bradford they do any size hockney’s and the colours will look fantastic on a white background.
As you have a large expanse of wall you may like to consider a pair of prints instead of the one large. If you like soft delicate prints, which would go very well with your decor, I do not think you could better than those by Kay Boyce. There are plenty to choose from check out Enchantment, Midnight Dancer, Michelle and Gypsy Romance all of which come in pairs.
They are all limited edition prints and if you just search for Kay Boyce on the internet you will find which shops have them available.
Try Gillian McDonald watercolour prints to add a blend of colour. I have just completed a similar scheme. Great..
