    it would seem so
but without the intellect of the mccanns and their skill in manipulating the media (and everyone else for a while) they came unstuck
people were suspicious of them because of their slack lifestyle and there were clearly to many leads for the police to follow…
the mccanns and their friends were much more canny and unfortunately for shannon’s parents the recent suspicion of the mccanns caused people to look more closely at them…….they didn’t have the advantage of being a middle class family to fall back on ….

What exactly went on in that family goodness knows. But according to the Tyne Tees news the mother was planning to go away with the uncle who held Shannon . I suppose the truth will out in the end . To be honest I have the opinion you couldn’t write it in a book!!!!

    Bullshit.
But what a coincidence that there are so many users on at the same time who thought the same as you on the same day ?

  4. yes i do too .!.

Well what ever involvement any of them have one thing is for sure we the tax payers will be coughing up the money for legal fees, rehousing them because the community who worked hard and slaved using their own time and money that they have not got will not want any of them back!! Then it is all the children involved with the familes what is going to happen to all of them?
If they are involved or not mud sticks and they are going to have a lot of time and public money spent on them that is what gets my goat.

  6. yes but every1 thought something was a miss when she disappeared

I also said this from day one and I’ll still stick to my opinion.
I do hope this is the case and that it is not anything more sinister like child abuse… in it’s most awful form.

I think Shannon chose to run away & went to her uncle’s since she saw it as a safe place . She had told her friends that she did not want to go home & that she was going to run away. He obviously has not harmed her in any way or he would have been charged with something a lot more serious. Apparently, she spoke to her mother on the phone during the period of her “abduction”.Ithink there is much more to this than meets the eye.

lol chavvy to the extreem!! yes I think they arranged it….and im glad she has said she dosent want to return home, her parents dont deserve her. Hopefully she will be put with some foster parents who wont arrange her kidnapping. Bunch of weirdos.

  10. Arwen the Original.

The only people who can answer this are the Matthew’s family.

  11. Nick P

Probably, But they where too working class for Richard Branson to give them any money.

  12. I thought the same, but now those images were fiound on her step fathers computer it seems more sinister.

  13. theunkno

I asked this question as soon as she was FOUND ALIVE AND WELL AT HER UNCLES HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! and I was lambasted for it. Yet now the whole bloody family are under arrest. It was a setup from start to finish!

I think. However they underestimated the scale of the McCanns’ media campaign and the skill with which they carried it out. They are amateurs compared to them.

  15. Well the McCanns made nearly £2 million just by leaving 3 children under 4 on their own and losing one. I guess it was only a matter of time before people tried to copy cat their success.

If this was a scam, I wonder what were they going to
do when they had the money. Was the plan for Shannon to be found. The Police were of the opinion that she was in “grave danger” didn’t they think a 9year old would tell!!
It just doesn’t add up. Whatever, her mother put her vunerable young daughter at risk and I’m sure Shannon knows this.

Absolutely and I am not just basing it on the media coverage in the aftermath.. I watched the fly on the wall documentary they made while they were ‘looking’ for her. Vile, lazy, uneducated, greedy low-life.

  18. Yes, I think they were greedy.

  19. disgusted with councils

Yes I do. I just wonder about the welfare of the rest of the children.

I’ve been in agreement when it comes to the MUNSTERS,then again that’s not fair on the Munsters. Anybody could see what had taken place, but I’m surprised that it took this long.

  21. Kerry

I have thought that before now. We just don’t know what’s going on now.

  22. Silly Cow

I am so sickenly socked by this…
I thought the step dad looked a bit dodgy, However, i am gutted to hear that her mum might now have been involved…
How can any mother put a child through that, how well did she know his uncle to trust him with her child alone for such a long time…
I think that if this was a plot to gain finances, she should loose all her children, she is not fit to be a mother…
I was all in deep sympathy for her in the past, especially when the step dad was arrested…
The whole lot of them should be lined up in there own street and let the locals who where tricked in this way deal with them…

  23. LAUREN K

i think they have staged this to cash in aswell, but not because they are chavvy or ill educated but because they thought they would get away with it

    I do
